Continued from Part 2.
#6. Culture of roles (man/woman)
A man and a woman are two entities that have got their roles to play. Culturally, there are designated chores and attributes for each gender. Seek to understand your culture of roles, especially in a marriage setting.
A culture of roles is very crucial, especially in the times we are living in now. Some people tend to be confused about understanding their biological gender as well as their gender roles. Many cultures promote gender roles. For example, women do the home-keeping in some cultures while the men do the provision and protection aspect. The women also provide, but the primary provider is seen as the man. This inherent cultural norm helped the older generation to focus on what truly matters –family and the general good of the society! They raised the male child to be manly and the female child to be adored, respected and protected.

Raising children in most cultures is a joint effort of both parents (a man and a woman) and the society. As each parent has their separate roles in the home, so it is with the raising of children. For example, it is only a woman that can get pregnant, and she needs to step into her role (to love and nurture) as a mother while the man does the same (to love, provide and protect) as a father.
When you follow your cultural principles regarding some or several issues in life, you will tap into some ancient knowledge as well as have a foundation to build upon and a basis for comparison.
#7. Culture of communality/ relationships
There is this culture of communality that I have noticed across different cultures. People in a particular community have their social clubs and organisations that aid in enhancing their well-being, culture, language, belief and value system.

These socio-cultural groups have different names (of course) and purposes for which they are set up. People in the diaspora from a particular tribe tend to start these groups too. They meet from time to time and assist each other in their struggles.
"They live and commune with nature. Find these sorts of people and learn good virtues from them."
They are able to do this in the diaspora because they understand and value their culture and who they are. The question now is; Are you in the diaspora? Do you have people from your tribe and culture around where you live? Why don’t you start a group and meet your very own people every once in a while? It is always fun and interesting to have your people around you even in a faraway land!
No man is an island is a popular saying and it is true. You are not alone. Reach out or search for your people around where you live and develop a friendship. You never can tell. No one knows tomorrow. Don’t be lonely. Relate with your people.
#8. Culture of upbringing
The culture of upbringing is more or less that of heritage in terms of skills, entitlements and legacies.
In most cultures, using Africa as an example, most families live inheritance for their children no matter how little. This is a beautiful thing. Find out what is obtainable in your culture regarding inheritance and see what you can make out of it. You might even have some inheritance without you knowing it. Just ask and find out.
Also, the culture of upbringing with regard to skills acquisition and passing down that knowledge is really important. Some tribes might be good in a particular trade or skill based on their location and the natural resources available to them. Find out what is unique to your people and learn such knowledge. It might be very critical to your prosperity and survival.
Certain tribes and cultures are known for their virtues. They serve humanity in a certain way. They use natural medicine to heal illnesses. They live and commune with nature. Find these sorts of people and learn good virtues from them.
Please comment in the comment section about your culture’s skills, virtues and entitlements. I look forward to reading from you all. Long live your culture. God bless and protect your people.
